We went to a benefit dinner tonight for Christie Devitt. If you have been reading my blog, she is the cancer patient I wrote about a few weeks ago that was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer at 29 years old when she was 8 1/2 weeks pregnant.
This woman has made a very special impact on my life and I wanted to do something in return. We bought an autographed Texas Tech football at the auction that the whole team signed! All of the money they raise is going to fund breast cancer research. My Granny was diagnosed with breast cancer last year and so this was for her too! It felt so good to give to such a special person and for a special cause that is close to my heart.
Christie's favorite verse is Matthew 5:16: "Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven." I hope that I have glorified the Father tonight.
