Baby Update

**Update** My fetal fibronectin test was negative which is great news and I was given the okay to travel to San Angelo one last time this weekend!

I have been having several different symptoms lately and those intensified this weekend.

Friday was the return of the Shrek feet and they were so swollen I had cankles. My hands were also pretty swollen so I went and checked my blood pressure after work just to make sure. It was normal so I went home and had a pretty uneventful Friday night.

On Saturday, we didn't leave the house until 3 p.m. to run a couple of errands and I was feeling pretty bad by the time we got home. I was having a lot of cramping, back pain, sciatic nerve pain and contractions. I laid in bed on my left side and drank three glasses of water and I felt a little better.

Yesterday was much of the same so I called my doctor this morning. They had me come in to check everything out.

After talking with the nurse practitioner, she decided to do the fetal fibronectin test to check for preterm labor. I won't get the results back until tomorrow. All of my other tests came back normal though. I am dilated to a 1, but that's not necessarily anything to be concerned about since this is my second baby. He has dropped and I'm feeling a lot of pressure and my belly is MUCH lower. She advised me to wear a maternity belt for support. I already have one because I had to wear it with Hayden, but not this early!

She also instructed me to take it easy which means no cleaning, picking up Hayden, etc. This is easier said than done, but I don't want to end up on bed rest so I will do as she says!

We could still be weeks away and she wasn't overly concerned about preterm labor at this point. Things will probably just progress quicker this time.

I did take maternity photos yesterday because I really didn't want to have to reschedule. Hopefully, I will see them soon!
