Patience

I'm learning a lot about patience these days.

We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our sweet baby boy and I guess he is just not quite ready yet. I was 38 weeks and four days yesterday which is the same time I gave birth to Hayden. I was induced with him so I didn't really go through the waiting game. It is a different feeling, but it is also very exciting. I am hoping that my blood pressure doesn't become an issue so that we can let him come on his own time. It is weird how different this pregnancy has been. I have had more bumps in the road, but thankfully nothing too serious.

Hayden is recovering well from the surgery. He has his spunk back and is testing our patience as well. He is strong, sweet, defiant, silly, cute and ornery all at the same time. It is a learning process for us as parents as well as for him to figure out what works best as far as discipline goes. It is hard not to laugh sometimes even when he's misbehaving.

He is talking more and becoming such a little man. I can't believe he will be two next month! Here's some of his favorite things to say:
- Where'd it go?
- Where is it?
- I don't know
- I did it
- Daddy at work
- He's/She's at work
- We were reading the Jesus Storybook Bible yesterday and he asked me "Jesus at work?" Too Cute!
- He can name most foods and tell you what he wants
- He can recognize and say a lot of people's names

He loves fruit, chicken and bread. Everything else is debatable.

He also loves to watch and listen to songs on YouTube. He asks for "Walla the Bus" aka "Wheels on the Bus" about 800 times a day. This will keep him occupied for a good while.

He is still sleeping in his big boy bed without any trouble. He goes to sleep on his own and usually doesn't even wake up. Next step is potty training.

He still likes to read books, build with legos, do art projects, play with cars and trains and do puzzles.

He runs everywhere. Walking isn't any fun apparently.

He is holding steady at 30 pounds and 34 3/4 inches tall.

He will probably be two the next time I update about him, but I'm going to try not to think about that between now and then.

I have only left the house once since Thursday when my doctor told me to stay off my feet. I'm going a little stir crazy, but the swelling has gone down so it seems to be working. I finished The Last Song in one day. Now I just need to see Dear John and I will be caught up!

Patiently waiting for our new arrival...
