Way Behind

I have seriously been neglecting this blog of mine lately. We have just been so busy. I've been out of town with both boys, loving on my new nephew, visiting family and friends, working, having fun, suffering through the terrible twos and trying to keep my sanity. But, I'm still here to tell about it!

I have also been away from my computer where I organize and edit all of my photos, but I'm just going to bite the bullet and do the best I can because I don't like getting behind!

Just some random thoughts before I get started with the next several posts:

- After being out of town without Garrett for several days, I have decided I don't ever, I mean never ever, want to be a single mom. Guess I better start being nicer.
- We went to my brother and sister-in-law's house and Hayden peed in the neighbor's front yard. Then he came around the corner lookin' like a fool with his pants on the ground. Ha! For the record, I did not teach him that it was okay to pee in strangers' yards. Only his own yard.
- We were using pull-ups at night, but he has been waking up dry since we started potty training so when we ran out of pull-ups I just didn't buy anymore and it has worked out well!
- Hudson is teething like crazy. I don't know when he will actually get any teeth, but he is biting, chewing and drooling like there's no tomorrow.
- Hudson is becoming quite mellow. He wasn't really that way at first, but he's a pretty happy little guy now and just the sweetest thing ever. More on him to come soon.
- I started the couch to 5K training program and I really like it so far. I'm only three weeks in though. We'll see what I think by week nine.
- Hayden is a live wire. He says and does the funniest things....and the not so funniest things. Here's a few:
*  counts to ten in Spanish and English
* when you ask him how old he is he says "I two" and either holds up his thumb and index finger or puts two fingers up and holds the rest of them down with his other hand. It's cute!
* Like any good parent would do, we have taught him how to get his guns up and say "Wreck Em' Tech".
* He says "Hey buddy",  "Ah, dude" and "C'mon" all the time now.
* He is talking in more complete sentences, for example adding "I want" in front of whatever it is he wants.
* He is quite tech savvy and has found things on my iphone that I didn't even know existed. He plays matching games, does puzzles, picks out colors and shapes and searches for his favorite YouTube videos (I supervise this to make sure he doesn't get to something he shouldn't).
* He is very independent and will tell me colors, shapes and letters as long as it is his idea. If I try to ask him or teach him, he is not interested at all.
* He likes to talk on the phone and on Skype.
* He loves watching baseball. This one really intrigues me because he can't still for 30 seconds, but he will sit and watch baseball.
* He says "I love you this much" and holds his arms out wide. Then he says "taller than the trees, deeper than the ocean, more than all the bugs in the world".
* He throws the biggest fits you've ever seen sometimes. The ones you've seen kids throw in Wal-Mart and thought to yourself "my kids will never act like that".  Please. The doctor did tell me that the medication he is on is without a doubt causing some of that. Good to know its not just bad parenting.
* He loves his little brother and says "I unna old him" (I want to hold him).
- I had the amazing experience of being in the room when my nephew entered this world last Thursday. I have never been on that end of the birthing process and it was just as miraculous as I remember it being. God is good. So, so very good.

I know I'm forgetting all kinds of stuff, but the lack of sleep is catching up to me. More to come soon!
