I have completed week five of the nine week training program and I went on the first 20 minute run last night. Let me just tell you that it has been a long time since I've run for 20 minutes. A really long time. It wasn't bad though and I actually surprised myself. The good thing about C25K is that it works you up slowly instead of just dropping a bomb on you and making you want to quit.
During the last five weeks when I have been too tired to want to do the workout or told myself I was crazy for actually wanting to run 3.1 miles, I think back to Hudson's birth and remind myself that if I made it through that and endured the most physical pain I've ever been in, surely I can suck it up and run for 30 minutes. People run a lot longer than that.
I don't really enjoy running. I have a bad back. I get shin splints really bad. My knees hurt. You get the point. However, that is why I chose this workout plan because I knew that it would be a challenge and I certainly have learned that you can do anything you put your mind to.
Here's to four more weeks!
