Let's Stop Here

Hayden is two and a half and I am okay with that, but three just sounds so big!

Just thought I would give a quick update on what he's been up to.

- He has really started talking more in the last month or so. He talks in more complete sentences and he speaks more clearly. I still think all the ear infections and sinus issues he had affected his speech.

- He loves going to Kids Day Out. He really enjoys playing with the other kids and doing crafts. They also go to chapel everyday and sing songs and listen to a Bible story. He is in a class of all boys!

- He has always liked his toys, but now he builds more things and plays for longer periods. He still loves his trains and will sit and look at tractor books for an hour.

- He has a new love for Toy Story.

- He is still a great napper and takes one nap a day from around 12 -2, sometimes longer. Sometimes he just goes to his room, turns on his noise machine and goes to sleep all on his own. Bedtime isn't always this easy, however.

- He is very well aware of his surroundings and remembers where EVERYTHING is. He is definitely a backseat driver and always tells me where to turn and which way to go, correctly at that.

- He likes to watch cartoons more than I would like, but when you work from home, it happens. He will actually sit still for more than five minutes when he's watching TV.

- He comes to our room every morning with his blanket and climbs in our bed and snuggles. Hudson is usually already in our bed by this time and this is my favorite time of day.

- He usually tells me exactly what he wants to eat though he may not always get it. He would eat an entire loaf of bread everyday if I let him.

- He would prefer to run around in his underwear and his boots at all times, but he will settle for a shirt with some kind of ball on it.

- Loves, loves, loves baseball.

- He knows letters, numbers, colors, etc., but still likes for it to be his idea to talk about them. His teachers said he does great with them so I think he's just holding out on us.

- He likes to draw and color and he concentrates really hard with his tongue sticking out.

- He loves that his brother can play with him now, but he really would like for him to be able to wrestle. I have visions of lots of wrestling and broken things in my future.

- His listening ears do not always work. Actually, most of the time they don't work, but we're working on it.

- It continues to amaze me how resilient he is to being sick so much. He sees his pulmonologist on the 17th and the ENT again on the 29th. I'm hoping for good news, but he still has huge lumps in the back of his throat so we'll see.

I can't believe he's halfway to three years old.

Let me hold you a little longer...
