Eleven Months Old

So close, yet not so far away. My little lovebug is eleven months old.

Growth:

- You weigh 24 lbs.

- 18 month clothes. 

- You are tall and skinny.

On the Menu:

- You are weaned from the "source" because the biting was becoming a problem. For me, that is. Ouch! I tried several things, but after about three months of that I decided when I got back from Oklahoma to start pumping and since you did so well and didn't seem to miss the real thing too much, I continued to pump mostly. We are starting the transition to milk and you have been such a big boy!

- Your most favorite things are bananas, avocados, crackers, oatmeal and yogurt.

Sleep:

- Daddy usually puts you to bed and you curl up in the nook of his arm and usually go right to sleep. You sleep from about 8-7, but you have been waking up before 7 here lately. Being sick kind of threw you off.

- Most of the time, you take two naps a day, but we're slowly trying to push to just one afternoon nap, hopefully at the same time as Hayden.

What's happenin':

- The biggest news is that you WALKED! You walk a lot when you're at home, but not as much when we're out. I think this is partly because you hate shoes.

- You say mama, dada, bubba, nana (it sounds the same for banana and Granna), ball, "doh" (dog), cheese, "ish" (fish), "dis" (this), "ere" (here), "nigh nigh" (night night).

- You sign for more, all done and milk. Working on please and thank you. I think you're going to say the words before you really need the signs at the rate you're going.

- You like to clap and it is so cute. I have always loved when babies clap.

- You can reach the door handles throughout the house and have figured out how to open them.

- You caught the flu right after Hayden did and you were a very sick little guy. We're so glad you are feeling better!

- You have this funny little thing where you tilt your head to the side, kind of like a puppy. You've been doing this for a while. I need to catch it on video because it is precious and just another one of your quirks.

- You're latest thing is saying "cheese" and flashing your cheesiest grin every time you see a camera. I did not teach you this and I really don't know where you got it from. I guess you've had a camera in your face a few too many times. It is so funny!

Favorite things:

- Eating

- Playing with Hayden's Tag Jr. You really think you know what you're doing.

- Pulling everything out of every drawer and cabinet you can find.

- Sitting at the back door and looking outside.

- Pushing things across the floor.

- You really like to play in the playroom with Hayden. I see some fighting in the near future, but you are both happy to have a playmate.

Not so favorite things:

- Waiting for your breakfast.

- Waiting more than 60 seconds for someone to come rescue you out of your bed when you wake up. You get m-a-d and your scream makes my toes curl. You are really very mellow most of the time, but when you want to get my attention, that is how you do it.

- Socks and shoes. You are constantly taking them off. I put mittens on you when it snowed and that was NOT a good idea.

- Diaper change, I guess you still haven't figured out that this isn't going away for a while.

I call you my little lovebug because you are just that. The first thing most people say about you is "he's so sweet." You still let me rock you and snuggle and you give me the best kisses ever. I have so loved being able to spend every day with you. You and your brother fascinate me and I have treasured our time together this past year, even on the hard days. 

While I am a little sad that my baby will soon be a year old, what a blessing you have been. I can't wait to celebrate your first year of life.
