You never know what you're going to get here. Some days it might be 50, but lately it has been in the 70s and yesterday it was 80!
I've been doing lots of laundry this week because they have been playing outside in the dirt, sand and mud.
Our week in pictures:
My little handymen.
For the last couple of months Hudson has REALLY wanted to sleep by his momma. He goes to sleep in his own bed, but somewhere throughout the night he finds his way to ours and I usually don't know it. He performs a sneaky stealth operation and I wake up later to find him there. While I love the sweet snuggle time, he is a wild sleeper and I am packing an extra 20+ pounds so it is getting rather uncomfortable for me. It is hot and he wants to be right next to me so I end up on my side on about 6 inches of the bed. The other night I guess he decided he would see if he could get away with sneaking in Hayden's bed. I went to check on him and this is where I found him. Sweet brothers. They really do love each other even though they fight like crazy.
It's kind of hard to see in this picture, but he wrote his name by himself with just a little reassurance. I didn't know he could do this so I was very proud! He's learning so much!
Picnic at the park! I've had a lot of things on my heart lately and one of them is slowing down to enjoy these two crazy kids. We spend a lot of time together and I don't want them to always have to stare at my back while I work at the computer. So, God is teaching me to be still and learn that it is okay to say no sometimes, something I'm not used to doing. I felt such a peace yesterday while we had a picnic, went on a walk and played and they were more than glad to have all of my attention.
Wild child.
Hudson is like fire and ice. He is stubborn and strong willed yet so very sweet.
Swamp things. This is one of their favorite parts of the day!
Hudson talks so much and I laugh at the little conversations we have. Some things he always says are "why" (oh dear we've already started this) and "huh-wy, huy-wy" (hurry, hurry), "breakfast", "nack" (snack, do you see the pattern?), "daddy at work", "you do it", "otay", "I wuv you dis much" as he holds out his hands, "blessu" (bless you), "Husson Way Jost (Hudson Wade Jost), counting to five, singing some of the ABCs and of course telling me "no". He loves to sing Joy in My Heart, Wheels on the Bus, Bringing Home a Baby Bumble Bee, Head Shoulders Knees and Toes and Itsy Bitsy Spider along with the motions. He thinks "squishing up the baby bumble bee" is the coolest. thing. ever.
There is never a dull moment around here with these two and I still find myself wondering what in the world I ever did without them. Besides sleep. ;)
