Smoothie Sensation

I have done some level of dairy elimination diet each time I was breastfeeding because of sensitivity and reflux issues and Harley is proving to be no different. My boys still don't drink cows milk. I don't drink milk by itself so that is not hard to give up. I just use the boys' almond milk to eat my cereal. Cheese, however, is a different story. How does one live without cheese? I am going to try some cheese substitutes, but I'm not sure my life will be the same. Let's not even talk about pizza. I am still mourning its loss. I ate it several times the last three weeks, but alas it is not helping the little lady so it has to go.

The problem here is that she eats a lot, therefore I eat a lot. I am hungry all day long. I went to Target the other night for a food run and wanted to buy every single Twinkie on the shelf.

In my quest to find foods that do not contain dairy or other allergens, I have found myself making a lot of smoothies from raw fruits and vegetables to keep this tank full. This is really what I should be eating anyway and skipping all of the processed crap.

I've been adding spinach to the smoothies without wanting to gag, but I'm going to have to get used to kale. I am convinced it tastes just like dirt.

I decided to try a recipe I found on pinterest for banana strawberry ice cream and it was really good and super easy!! Here's the recipe:

- 1 frozen banana (it is easier to cut in chunks and then freeze. If you freeze the banana whole like I did just run it under warm water to get the peel off)
- 1 cup strawberries
- 1/3 cup almond milk
- Drop of vanilla extract
- Blend, freeze and enjoy!

More on H 1,2 and 3 to come!
