Harley - Eight Months Old

Oh man. The months just keep passing by. While I love everything about this stage, I can't help but be a little sad that my third baby is just a few months shy of her first birthday. It just can't be. I am desperately trying to breathe in every last second, not wanting these memories to fade all too quickly.

The way you hold your blanket next to your cheek and suck your thumb. The little swirl of hair at the back of your head. How you clap your hands clumsily and flash your great big smile. Your sweet baby smell. How you sleep on your side and inch yourself up to the corner of the crib. Your soulful blue eyes and larger than life smile. The way you tilt your head when you're trying to find a familiar voice. How you crawl with one leg off the ground. When you pause while nursing to smile at me and "talk" and pat my face. Your many noises and expressions. What a sweet, sweet baby girl you are. I hope I never forget these moments.

Size:
- You are holding steady at 15 lbs. 2 oz.
- 6 month clothes mostly and some 9 months
- Size 2 diaper
- You are very dainty with delicate features. Quite a change from your brothers. :)

On the Menu:
- You can eat cut up fruits and cooked vegetables. You don't really like to pick it up and put it in your mouth though, but rather wait for someone to do it for you.
- You still nurse about four times a day. You crack me up when you pause and start laughing or stick your feet up for me to kiss them.

Sleep:
- You sleep from about 8-7:30 and still take a two hour nap in the morning and a three hour nap in the afternoon. Sometimes you will also take a late afternoon catnap. You are absolutely the best sleeper. You like to snuggle for a little bit, but then you want to be put down and you go right to sleep and don't make a peep. You wake up and are content to play in your crib for a while.

What's New:
- You've been crawling for a while, but now that you have mastered it you crawl all over the house to find me or your brothers.
- You started pulling up.
- You have TWO bottom teeth.
- You say "da-da" and "buh-buh" (bubba) all the time along with a lot of other baby talk.

Things you Love:
- You still love bath time. It is probably your most favorite thing besides eating. You go crazy in the bath tub splashing and laughing.
- You favorite toys are blocks, balls and the musical learning table.

We hardly ever call you by your name. The boys call you "sister" or "sister wister".  They wrestle and act like wild hooligans all the time, but they are so very sweet to you. Hayden is patient with you when you mess up his toys. I have a feeling you will fit right in with them.
