December 2013 Family Trip - Great Wolf Lodge

I decided early last year that I wasn't going to let the holidays pass me by. September through December are my busiest months of the year and it is quite tricky to manage it all, but I knew I wanted to make it a priority to spend time with my family.

We went to Grapevine the first weekend in December and stayed at Great Wolf Lodge and the Gaylord Texan. Any trip with three kids under age five is anything but relaxing, however, it was one of the most fun things we've done in a long time. There was a huge ice storm that weekend and it took us a lot longer to get there than usual, but we took Garrett's truck with four wheel drive and made the most of it.

To say the kids were excited when we got there would be a huge understatement. They were thrilled! I hope we can take a trip like that every year. The memories made were worth more than any gift we could buy them for Christmas.

We played for hours at the waterpark on Saturday before heading to the Gaylord. More on that to come!

So excited about their "log cabin" in our room.

Going to check out the hotel.

There hotel lobby decorated for Christmas. It was beautiful!

Waking up Saturday morning. They were fascinated with the snow, which was actually mostly ice. They have only seen snow one other time and they were too young to remember it.

The  boys did this big water slide with Garrett and loved it!

What a great place to be able to swim and play inside when it is 20 degrees and completely iced over outside.
