Think Pink

I have told Christie's story before here and I am asking you all to pray for her again. She had a TRAM flap procedure done yesterday. Here is her description of what that procedure entails. It is amazing.
"Dr. Schmid and Dr. Bayouth will cut open my tummy from hipbone to hipbone and, while keeping the blood supply intact, they will tunnel the skin, tissue, and an abdominal muscle up through my abdomen and out of my right chest wall. This skin and tissue will form a new breast. My tummy will be closed back up with results he guarantees to be equivalent to a tummy tuck! I will also get a new belly button. No, I can't picture what any of this is going to look like either! But I guess I'll find out in the next day or two. Dr. Schmid has decided to leave the expander in my left breast for now. In 6 months I will have another surgery to replace the left expander with a permanent implant and place a small implant on the right side to ensure symmetry. I am expected to remain in the hospital this week for 3-4 days."

Her husband updated today and everything went well, but it is a very painful process.

Also, my sister-in-law's sister was diagnosed with breast cancer recently. She has already had surgery and will begin treatment soon.

And last, but most certainly not least, my Granny. She is doing well and we are so thankful!

So, think pink if you will. These ladies deserve a moment of your time as do all of the other women who battle this disease.
