Garrett and I went to San Antonio this past weekend for a quick trip to celebrate our third wedding anniversary. Our anniversary isn't until December 9, but we celebrated a little early.
We stayed in a lovely suite at the Westin Riverwalk. We were pretty tired when we got there Friday night so we just ate at Zocca, the restaurant in the hotel.
On Saturday, we ate, walked around the riverwalk, watched part of the Tech game, took a nap and did a little shopping. We missed Hayden the whole time, but it was nice to just be able to enjoy each other's company. The best part of the day, however, came Saturday night when we went to eat at Fogo de Chao. It was divine. I think it might be our new favorite place! There is one here, but we haven't had the chance to go. We will definitely be going back! We ate way too much and it was a fabulous evening!
We stopped and ate at Cracker Barrel on the way back home on Sunday and devoured the Holiday Sampler. Cinnamon biscuits, ham, bacon, sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy and fried apples. I didn't know what to eat first!
We made one last quick stop at the outlet mall to pick up a few presents before heading home. We were ready to see our little man! He probably didn't miss us as much as we missed him because he had Scott, Christi, Granna and Sassy at his beckon call all weekend. He had a lot of fun and we can't thank them enough for watching him so we could get away. I don't know when we'll be able to do it again.
To end the wonderful weekend, we put up the Christmas tree last night. I usually wait until after Thanksgiving, but since I'm ahead of the game this year and actually already have presents bought, I thought it would be fun to do it while Granna and Sassy were here. Hayden loves his Christmas "tee" and taking off the ornaments of course. I still have more decorating to do, but the hardest part is done. I love coming home to a Christmas filled house, turning the lights off and sitting by the tree!
I didn't take a whole lot of pictures this weekend so I apologize for the lack of photos.
Looking forward to a short work week and Thanksgiving!
More to come soon.
