I'm Gonna Miss This...

I love watching my boys grow and learn new things, but there are still things that I wish I could just bottle up and keep forever.

HAYDEN
- The other night Hayden brought all of his favorite things into our bedroom. His blanket, his noise machine, his pillow, his books. We don't normally let him sleep with us, but how was I supposed to turn that down? It was so cute. He put his arm around me, told me he loved me and nestled right in. He was kicking me and wacking me in the face a few hours later, but it was sweet while it lasted.

- I love how he comes to my bed every morning, gets really close to my face and asks for "breaktast".

- Hayden started Kids Day Out this week and we bought him a Toy Story backpack the other day. He has been wearing that thing all day every day. He runs around in his underwear and his backpack. I'm sure our neighbors think we never dress him. Crazy kid.

- He thinks he has to change his underwear every single time he goes to the bathroom. I told him that was not going to happen until he learned how to do his own laundry. He also thinks it is necessary to take off all of his clothes when he poops. I'm trying to break this habit because when other people watch him they might find this strange.

- The only thing that keeps Hayden looking like a toddler and not a little boy are his chunky little thighs and I'm going to miss them when they're not so chunky anymore.

- He was break dancing in the floor last night...to the Jonas Brothers no less. I caught it on video and let me just say that he must get his rhythm from his father.

HUDSON
- Hudson plays with my hair and pats me when I'm feeding him and I love that time with him. He just looks up at me with his big eyes and then gives me a big gummy grin. Speaking of the gummy grin, I'm really going to miss that now that he is getting TWO teeth.

- He has started giving kisses and I savor every last slobbery one of them. They're the best!

- I love how he wrinkles up his nose and how his whole face lights up when he smiles. He still gets really excited when he sees me and I want to remember this when he's 16 and wants nothing to do with me.

- He sucks his toes all the time and it is cute for now until he starts having dirty little boy feet.

And lastly (for now anyway), I love how they are both fascinated with each other. I pray they grow up to be the best of friends.

While I am going to miss these things, I look forward to all of the wonderful things that lie ahead.
