Hudson - 18 Months

I was going to try to take some 18 month pictures, but alas that will have to wait.

Here's what you're up to little man:

Size
- You are wearing mostly 2T and can actually fit in some 3T depending on the brand.
- Size 7 shoe (can you say big feet?)
- Last time we measured you were 33 inches tall.
- Your 18 month appointment somehow did not get scheduled, so now they can't get you in until November. Oops.

Favorite Things
- Tags. You play with the tags on blankets, shirts, everything.
- You love to dance and listen to music. You can do the motions to Itsy Bitsy Spider and Wheels On the Bus.
- You LOVE dogs and think they are all named "Lay-ee" (Lady).
- You are fascinated with bugs and squat down and get as close as you can to look at them while signing and saying bug.
- You could play with the water hose all day long. Being outside is definitely one of your most favorite things to do.
- You like driving toy cars and making "vroom" noises.
- You like to play with Legos and stack things.
- You can whip up a mean meal in the kitchen in the playroom. You are so focused while you're doing it. It's funny! Hopefully, you will get your Daddy's cooking skills and not mine.
- You and Hayden wear me out with your eating habits, but you eat more things than he will. You really like yogurt, breakfast bars, crackers, raisins, pasta, pizza, apples and chicken.
- If you're ready to go to bed, you'll come get us and say "bath". You don't want to miss your bath before bedtime! Lately, you've been having to have more than one bath a day because you get all sorts of dirty outside in the morning.
- You love to look at books, but we have to read really fast or you're already on to the next one.

A Way with Words
- You say a lot of words. I don't know that I could list them all. "Lub you" is my favorite. :)
- You always bring me your clothes and say "shorts", "shirt", "shoes", etc.
- You can name most people in our family.

Milestones

- You started Kids Day Out last week and have done great! Your daily reports say things like "Such a helpful little man. Helped me wipe off table and chairs without being asked!" and "Did very well eating and playing with others." They said you are nothing but good while you are there. You save the fits for me. :)
- You are doing really well with the potty training. You still have a few accidents every now and then, but for the most part you are a pro. You've only had one accident at school and you were standing in the bathroom trying to get their attention so it doesn't really count. We wake you up around midnight before we go to bed and then you wake up dry in the mornings. Sometimes you yell momma in the middle of the night and we take you to the bathroom and you go right back to sleep. You also wake up dry after nap.

I'm going to ignore the fact that you will be two in the next six months. That just doesn't seem possible. There have been days when all of the fighting, making messes and chaos has driven me to the point of insanity, but you have the sweetest smile and infectious laugh and that makes it all worth it.
