How far along? 14 weeks
Total weight gain: 13 lbs. The kind nurse said, "As long as it's not more than a pound a week you're doing fine and you have some room to spare." Thank you for that, I think.
Symptoms: Shortness of breath. I'm starting to really feel pregnant, other than the obvious nausea, and I'm not sure that's a good thing this soon. I feel the heaviness and the stretching and the aching back, etc.
Best moment this week: I heard a sweet heartbeat yesterday at 150 bpm. Music to my ears.
What I am looking forward to: Holiday fun with my family of four. Can't believe there will be five next year!
Weekly Wisdom: If I do nothing else right, I just want to love Jesus and love others and not get so caught up with the rest of it.
Milestones: Heard the heartbeat!
I had my 14 week appointment yesterday and everything is fine, but my doctor said they think I had a "vanishing twin". After being confused when she said the word "twin" and almost having a heart attack on the table and then realizing what she was saying, I was fine and was fine when I left, but as the day went on I had mixed emotions about it. You don't usually know when this happens, but something on the ultrasound gave them this indication. I was happy to hear that everything looks great with this baby, but sad at the thought that there was possibly another. They will check everything again when I have my ultrasound January 4 to make sure there aren't any complications. I also started fearing that something could be wrong with the baby I am carrying.
I know that the God of all creation has a plan and I find peace in that. My prayer is that I not let fear consume me and instead experience the fullness of the joy he has given me.
