Just thought I'd share...

So, Garrett and I went to this great new church last night. I'm pretty sure we were the oldest people at the 7 p.m. service, but we still really enjoyed it. The sermon was about marriage. As soon as I saw that, I thought to myself...we are here for a reason tonight.

I won't get into all of the details because I'm sure you have other things to do, but there were four principles discussed and then at the end he said "Your marriage should be a picture of God's love so that when others look at you that is what they see." Then he said that you should ask yourselves if your marriage paints that picture.

I felt the burning inside and outside as the tears started rolling because I had never put our marriage into that perspective and it stung for a moment. For you see, I think we have some work to do to paint that image and I was overcome with guilt. There are so many things I need to do differently and so many things we should do differently as a whole. I am really glad we went and I believe in transparency for the sake of helping others because I'm sure I am not the only person who has felt this way. We should always remember that marriage is not a man-made institution. God created marriage and it is not only from Him, it is for Him. It is not ours to take advantage of. Lesson learned.

Hope you're having a fabulous Monday!
