Lost and Found

My dog, Lady, has been staying with my mom for a while, but she brought her back to me a couple of weeks ago. This past Saturday I let her out early that morning when I got up to feed Hudson. I was in the kitchen making baby food a little before 10 and I went to let her in, but she didn't come. I called her and looked around, but she was nowhere to be found.

There was only one place she could have squeezed out of the gate where Hayden moved the bricks we had there so she couldn't get out. I wasn't sure how long she had been out and I panicked. Garrett drove around looking for and then I walked the entire neighborhood, up and down every street calling her name. Hayden sat on the front porch steps calling "Wady, Wady" and then he would look at me and say "where'd she go?" I was worried that she could have gotten to the busy street near our neighborhood and been hit by a car or that someone stole her or that she could be lost in the greenbelt.

We searched and searched for her. Several hours had passed and we still hadn't found her. Garrett went to his office to print signs to post in the neighborhood and when he got back we asked our neighbors if they had seen her and they told us someone had driven by asking if someone was looking for her. They had found her wandering around. Garrett got their phone number from the guy who works in the model home and he went and picked her up. She was clueless to the fact that we had been looking for her all day. She had been on a little vacation playing with their two dogs.

I was so glad to have her home! This dog drives me crazy most of the time, but I would be so very sad if something happened to her. I've had her for five years and the boys love playing with her.
