Things I Didn't Know

Have you read Pioneer Woman's post today on witchin' wells? I was reading the news and blogs this morning while Garrett was getting ready for work and I had never heard of this so I asked him. He was like "yeah, I've done it before." They used this technique to dig wells on the farm. Really? How did I not know he was a well witcher or whatever you call them.

I thought it was very interesting and it's good to know that if I ever need to dig a well, I have my very own well witcher.

iPhone Hodge Podge

I think I'm going to make an album of all of the pictures from my phone. They are not always the best quality, but they capture some of the best moments because I always have it with me! Some of these are from a while ago.

We built a "fort". I'm constantly trying to find ways to keep them entertained so I can work, but it usually doesn't last very long.

Who needs an iphone anyway?

I think he liked the spaghetti!

 Too cool!

Tearing up the bathroom while I try to get ready. He might have eaten some dog food. Not completely sure.

Hudson always wrinkles up his nose like this. Stinker.

At the doctor for Hayden's three year well check. Where did my babies go?

Just Funny

My mom and I do not have the best communication between her running a store and me running a circus. In addition, she never knows where her cell phone is and if she does it usually isn't charged. I end up having to call everybody but the police to track her down. She needs help. Lots of help. Our most productive conversations take place at midnight.

This is a Facebook conversation we had the other day:

Me: Dear Mom, Hayden and Hudson would love to play with you and I would love to take a nap. Feel free to come see us anytime. Okay thanks. Bye.

Mom: What no phone call, just a Dear Mom letter. I miss them too. I'm sure I will work something out soon!

Me: Sadly, it is much easier to communicate with you on the world wide web. They say you should admit you have a problem. Hello, my name is Lindsey and some days I want to bang my head against the wall while working with a teething 6 month old and a 2.5 year old who appears to be jacked up on mountain dew...only there's no mountain dew. The end.

Then she called me. I win.

These are the days of our lives...

Crazy Love and Other Randimosity

I am starting a new book called Crazy Love by Francis Chan. I'll let you know how it goes.

Are there any babywearing mamas out there? I want to get a sling to put Hudson in, but don't know which one to get and most importantly, I want one that is safe after all of the recent things in the news about them. Suggestions?

I am also on the lookout for a swimsuit. I think something like this might work well to cover up my battle wounds after having two rather large babies.

Slimming with a little splash of color, full coverage, no saggy arms, no jiggly thighs....yep this is it!

I am still looking for a double stroller after changing my mind 900 times. I have decided I want a jogging stroller, not because I'm going to actually jog necessarily, although I should, but I would like it to be functional on all terrains. The BOB is my first choice, but it is not cheap and they swipe them up on craigslist faster than I can find them and even then they're still expensive. Again, looking for recommendations here for one that turns well, fits through a standard doorway and has a swivel wheel in the front.

I think that's all for now. Don't leave me hangin'.

Hodge Podge

Halloween is not my favorite holiday so I never posted about it. Hayden wore a tiger costume for about five minutes before he had had enough. He is too little to trick or treat and I was in Lubbock on Friday night so I didn't have any family to take him to visit. So, it was quite uneventful.

I did get to see my friend Sarah on Friday night. She was in town for the game. I haven't seen her in like six months so I was really glad I got to see her. I hung out with her and Dashia and we had a good time laughing at crazy costumes. The best one was a girl dressed up as a loofah.
I went to San Angelo on Saturday for a wedding and Courtney's lingerie shower. No, I wasn't in town for the biggest football game in Tech history and I was VERY sad about it, but its okay because I will be here this weekend for the OSU game. I had a good time with the girls and I got to watch it on TV. The touchdown with one second left...bliss!
And lastly, I voted in my first presidential election today. I have never been much into politics, but this election was important to me. It was a great feeling!

ER visit

So, I had to visit our ER today. I was unloading boxes this morning onto a dolly to set up for a health fair. I went to put a box on the dolly and I'm not sure exactly what happened, but the dolly flipped up and the handle hit me in the neck. It was a heavy box, so there was a lot of force behind it when it hit me. It hurt really bad. I made it through the health fair, but it started hurting worse and I was having difficulty swallowing. I went to the clinic and they informed me that I had to go to employee health since I was doing something work related when it happened. I really didn't care. I just wanted to see a doctor...I didn't mind paying for it. I went to employee health and they sent me to the ER. Long story short, I have a contusion on my neck and it is really stiff and swollen, I have a really bad headache and my throat was swollen almost shut. It is probably going to be really sore for a few days, but I'm going to live. The good news is that the doc told me to eat ice cream and popsicles to get the swelling in my throat to go down, so now I have an excuse!
